Project Coordinator Job Description
Trans Power Utility Contractors Inc. is a prime contractor to various utility, industrial and commercial clients, providing for the installation of high voltage cable, transformers, switch gears, street and highway lighting, traffic signals, telecommunication equipment and natural gas plant. If you are a professional, organized, client-focused individual that is interested in working with a stable, highly reputable company within the GTA, we currently have an immediate opening for
the position of Project Coordinator, Secondary Services.
Job Responsibilities:
- • Working closely with the Project Team, assist with projects, and ensuring the effective set-up, administration, coordination and invoicing of all project work assigned
- • Develop and organize the schedule and coordination of multiple construction projects (including, but not limited to: crews, equipment, materials and scheduling activities), to provide clients with the accurate, timely, cost-effective and quality solutions that company is known for
- • Receive, review, process, maintain, follow up, manage and ensure the accuracy of all documentation, plans, permits, drawings, specifications, costs, materials estimates, contracts, locates, project folders and related reports in an organized and consistent manner
- • Interpreting construction drawings and understanding utilities such as hydro, gas, telecommunications and TV would be considered a valuable asset as these will be regularly reviewed
- • Maintain constant communication with, and provide ongoing updates to the project manager and project supervisor on a consistent basis, and ensure that project status and reporting updates are consistently and effectively delivered to the appropriate individuals
- • Proactively escalate project issues and risks that require the Project Manager’s attention
- • Comply fully with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Construction Projects
- • Other duties as required
Essential Skills:
- • A high degree of professionalism, with the ability to work with little supervision, manage multiple tasks in an organized manner, produce quality and timely work, and meet strict deadlines
- • Strong attention to detail
- • Demonstrating the ability to take initiative as a Project Coordinator in managing daily tasks while working independently
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Demonstrating the ability to independently
problem-solve and explore all potential solutions before escalating issues to the Project
Manager. - • Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment
- • Excellent communication, prioritizing, organizational, and time management skills to
effectively assist and coordinate with multiple projects simultaneously - • A high degree of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
